«Thanks to the support of the Moscow Region authorities, we can fulfill Moscow Aerotropolis potential to the full extent. Domodedovo airport is transforming into an area of economic influence for ambitious development initiatives in retail, tourism and hospitality. These industries get additional incentives for accelerated growth due to the proximity of the air hub and a comfortable business environment,» claimed Igor Borisov, Moscow Domodedovo Airport Director. The total construction area will be 50 hectares. The «Tropical Island» will serve as a center of the hotel and recreational cluster of Moscow Aerotropolis. The park will feature a well thought-out and convenient infrastructure for entertainment including a tropical forest, beaches, a cinema, a planetarium, a fitness center and an ice rink.
The investor is Sky Capital JSC. The total investment is 35 billion rubles. The implementation period is 6 years. The initiative will create over 1,000 additional jobs. The park is planned to host 4.5 million people annually. PJSC Sberbank, PwC and Kosmick Company have also encouraged the project.
Domodedovo airport has been actively developing the Moscow Aerotropolis project – a new urban formation based on the commercial development of land around the airport. Within a 20-km radius of the air hub, a new urban development formation will appear, the objects will be divided into clusters according to areas of activity: trade, hotel and recreational, business park, expo, industrial and agricultural. The cluster concept of Aerotropolis was developed taking into account the successful world experience in the development of airport environs.
